Home sweet home

There’s nothing quite like coming home after being away, and that goes double when you travel with small children. Oh by Hestia, I sensed Zoey’s relief at being reunited with her regular potty like I was happy to see my kettle.

The kids did good. They only really started to loose it on the last leg of the drive home, and reassuring two almost three year olds that we are only 26 minutes from home is like bailing out a sinking boat with a sieve. The ship is going down.

We were home by just after 1pm so plenty of time to start recovering and get the laundry on. It was nice to cook. It was nice to take out the recycling.

Not to say there weren’t some high points in the car ride home. The discovery of scissors in the bag and Nomi starting to snip away at a sheet of paper and then Zoey cut hers in half and started folding paper airplanes was one. Their refusal to accept that we were driving past mountains as they weren’t like The Alps. Bless.
