Trees & swing sets

Over the summer we got solar panels installed and one of the recommendations to maximize them was to chop the rather large cedar tree at the side of our house down.

As you can see it is rather large and not the healthiest of trees. It got a battering over the winter and has poison ivy growing around it. Today the tree team turned up to cut it down. Much excitement and a sense of occasion for which the proper safety gear is needed.

Once the tree was down we headed back out to the swing set to paint it. It really needs two coat but mama only had energy for one even with two sets of helping hands.

I’ll do the second coat early next year after the snow melts but it already looks heaps better. Next up is tightening and replacing missing bolts, and getting rubber mulch.

We are all tired and need to pack for our road trip. A change of scenery, and no yard work for a few days.
